The Society of Notaries Public of BC and Dye & Durham continue relationship with Collaboration agreement
Dye & Durham continues to invest and develop the right tools for legal professionals to serve their clients now and in the future.
Last July, the Society of Notaries Public of BC signed a new 10-year collaboration agreement with Dye & Durham, the leading provider of cloud-based software and technology for legal professionals. The agreement extends a long-term and beneficial relationship that first began in 2013.
The agreement provides funds for the education and training of students and reinforces Dye & Durham’s long-term support of the Society to deliver on its mandate to ensure members meet the highest standards of learning, competence, and professional conduct. The renewed agreement will help Society members continue to meet and exceed expectations of ethical and professional conduct and knowledgeable practice and full co-operation with regulatory bodies. As the Body responsible for establishing continuing professional development, the Society values Dye & Durham’s sponsorship of professional development and training sessions throughout the year.
“Legal professionals face a host of new challenges and opportunities as they adapt their practices to developing regulatory requirements, technologies and processes, whether it’s helping clients with the purchase of a home in a red-hot housing market or navigating changing provincial governance and regulatory standards,” says Dennis Barnhart, President of Dye & Durham Canada. “By optimizing the available tools and resources and delivering new innovative features, functionality, and integrations, we’re fulfilling our commitment to equip Notaries with the technology to effectively manage their transactions while complying with legal requirements, which results in clients who are confident in those who serve them.”
SNPBC recognizes that since going public in July 2020, Dye & Durham has made significant investments to innovate, build and acquire new features, capabilities and integrations that enhance its Canadian software platforms.
Dye & Durham’s commitment to BC’s legal professionals will be further strengthened in the coming year with the introduction of Unity, the most advanced real estate conveyancing software in the world. Through Unity, the company will ensure legal professionals remain at the core of every real estate transaction by enhancing their practice and helping them provide the best possible conveyancing experience for their clients as they make the most significant purchase of their lives.
“Because BC is the only common-law province that independently regulates Notaries as legal service providers, the society has a duty to ensure our members are competent, qualified, and knowledgeable in the application of emerging tools and resources to serve and protect the public and the land title system in BC. ” says John Mayr, Executive Director at the Society of Notaries Public of BC. “Our continued relationship with Dye & Durham means we’ll continue our regulatory stewardship of the notary profession for the benefit of BC residents and citizens.”
