Dear Clients,Please find attached a Notice to the Profession issued by Chief Judge, Hugh C. Stansfield, on February 2, 2006.In response to the increase in the monetary jurisdiction of the Small Claims Act to $25,000, the Provincial Court of British Columbia has made a number of scheduling changes in order to resolve cases in a “just, speedy, inexpensive and simple manner”, according to the mandate in Section 2 of the Act.If you have any questions regarding this FYI, please contact Dye & Durham’s Litigation Division at 604-257-1854 or email[email protected]
