LTSA to reinstate $2.50 Juricert fee

May 31, 2010

Dear valued client,Please note the following information from the BC Land Title & Survey Authority:

LTSA to reinstate $2.50 Juricert fee on all electronically-filed releasesThe Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA), in consultation with Juricert, the Law Society of British Columbia, and BC OnLine, will be reinstating the $2.50 Juricert fee as of July 31, 2010 for “digital signatures” on all electronically-submitted releases of charges filed against land titles.

Since June 2009, the $2.50 Juricert fee has been temporarily waived as a small encouragement to professionals in their use of the LTSA’s Electronic Filing System. Digital signatures are obtained through Juricert, a service provided by the Law Society that validates the online identity and professional credentials of the lawyer, notary public or land surveyor submitting electronic documents. Digital signatures are a requirement for electronically-filed releases, and the modest fee covers the cost of providing those signatures through Juricert. For more information about electronic search and filing, contact Dye & Durham at (604) 257-1800 or [email protected]
