LTSA Customer Service Fees Increase

March 22, 2013

Dear Valued Client,

Please be advised that the LTSA will be increasing their customer service fees by 3% on April 1, 2013. Dye & Durham’s fees will not be changed, though our disbursements will be adjusted accordingly. The LTSA summarizes the increase as follows:

Land Title Act service fees are payable to the LTSA and remitted to both the LTSA and Province. The 3% fee increase, a Consumer Price Index (CPI) adjustment, is based on the CPI increase from November 2008 to November 2012, less the 2% fee increase in effect April 1, 2012. The fee increase will be applied only to the LTSA’s portion of its customer fees resulting in a small net increase to overall customer fees. The LTSA will use revenue from the modest fee increase to address the impact of inflation on operations.

The LTSA operates on a fee-for-service basis. Under its Operating Agreement with the Province, the LTSA may increase its portion of Land Title Act services fees annually by the adjusted CPI. The LTSA reviews the need for CPI increases annually.

Current LTSA fees, and projected fees as of April 1, 2013, may be viewed at www.ltsa.ca/fees.
