BC Registry Services: Name Requests Online Consent Flag Chang

November 8, 2012

Dear Valued Client,

Please see below for a notice from BC Registry Services.

Name Requests Online Consent Flag Change

Effective immediately, in an effort to improve customer service, BC Registry Services will no longer use the consent flag “Y” functionality in Name Requests Online, which prevented clients from using a name approval request that contained the condition “only after existing company changes its name, amalgamated or dissolved”.  This condition will still be added when necessary, but it is the responsibility of the client to meet the condition prior to using the name.  If the client is an individual, who may not be familiar with processes, Registries will continue to use the flag, but it will not be added for frequent users of Corporate Online.

This change will allow most clients to use the name approval request without having to first contact staff at Registries to advise the condition has been met, resulting in time savings for all.
