As previously mentioned, the Canadian Bar Association presents the Georges A. Goyer, QC Memorial Award annually.
Award nominations were due on September 25 and the esteemed award was presented at the annual Bench and Bar dinner on November 3. The Bench and Bar was held at the lavish Westin Bayshore and was hosted by the CBABC Executive and Law Society Benchers. With much anticipation, presenters proudly announced Mary Mouat, QC with the annual recognition.
Mouat is a collaborative practitioner; she has been mediating since 1996. She opened her private, Victoria based office in 1988 and has gone from general practice to providing specialization in family law. Mouat has a decorated history having received the the “Pam Murray Award from the Victoria Bar Association, the Dean’s Cup from the University of Victoria Law School and she was appointed as Queen’s Counsel in December of 2011.“
