January 19, 2011

The Law Society of BC recently announced that the University of Victoria Faculty of Law is seeking volunteers for an upcoming student-organized negotiation event:

The UVic Law Negotiation Challenge is seeking volunteers from the legal community to judge its inaugural event. The student-run competition will take place on Thursday,
February 3 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. The goal of the Negotiation Challenge is to provide students with an exciting opportunity to develop their oral advocacy skills.

The first round of negotiations will be 40 minutes long and is based on a fact pattern that students and judges will receive prior to the event. The second round is 30 minutes in length and is based on a “twist” that the students will receive during the competition. Food and beverages will be provided both before and after the competition. The event will wrap up with a social gathering where the top teams will be announced.

If you are interested in guest judging or would like additional information, contact David Chen at [email protected] or 778-922-0213.
