As part of the Provincial Court of BC’s ongoing efforts to make the legal system more accessible and transparent, Chief Judge Thomas Crabtree has issued a notice to the profession about the Court’s Practice Directions and Notices to the Profession.

NP 04 became effective February 23, 2015, and provides lists of both Practice Directions that have been rescinded or expired (in Appendix A), and currently operational Practice Directions and Notices to the Profession (in Appendix B).

Judge Crabtree notes that the items in Appendix B have been “updated with respect to format, job titles, numbering, and language as noted in the History section.”

According to the Provincial Court website, “The Chief Judge issues Practice Directions to provide clarification and guidance to court users respecting procedural matters and issues Notices to the Profession to inform the profession and the public of various court-related matters.”
