Together with the Jack Webster Foundation, the Law Society of BC has announced details on the annual upcoming Law and the Media Workshop. This year’s theme is “An Unfolding News Story”.
Panelists at the event include Dan Burnett, a media lawyer at Owen Bird; Ethan Faber, assistant news director and managing editor at CTV News Vancouver; Gillian Shaw, digital life writer for The Vancouver Sun; and Mike Wagner, a media lawyer at Farris.
All BC journalists are invited to come for insight and tools to “become legally savvy in today’s world of tech media” through the fictional scenario of“an offer of a drone video and the subsequent navigation of the story through the legal pitfalls it presents”.
The workshop takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Law Society offices in downtown Vancouver. Registration is free but required due to limited space. Get all the details from the LSBC website or the Jack Webster Foundation website.
