UBC Law Wins Gale Cup

More moot news to share today: UBC Law took home the Gale Cup, the top prize in the  Lenczner Slaght CBA Gale Cup, a bilingual criminal-constitutional law moot held in Toronto this past weekend. Get all the details in Jon Laxon’s Canadian Lawyer article, UBC take the Gale Cup.

UBC competitors also took home another trio of awards: Lisa Jørgensen  received a Dickson Medal for Exceptional Oralist Performance for the Final Round, and the law school’s Appellant (Patrick Williams and Bryan Badali) and Respondent (Lisa Jørgensen and Guy Patterson) teams won the first and second place Peter Cory Factum Prizes, respectively.

The moot’s final round was judged by Justice Thomas Cromwell of the Supreme Court of Canada, Monsieur le juge François Doyon of the Quebec Court of Appeal, and Justice Holly Beard of the Manitoba Court of Appeal.
