TWU Denied Law School Recognition

July 8, 2015

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has officially supported and upheld the decisions of the Law Society of Upper Canada to deny Trinity Western University law degree accreditation.

Back in December of 2014, Advanced Education Minister Amrik Virk revoked BC’s approval of the private, Christian university. The university’s law degree which meets the “academic and professional standards” is being discredited due to its code of conduct which discriminates against the LGBTQ community.

The latest decision by the court has TWU up in arms, as the decision prevents Canadians from their basic rights and freedoms which include voluntary association participation.

We look forward to providing you with updates as they come. Stay tuned to the BCLW Blog!
