The Advocate, the journal of the Vancouver Bar Association, has announced its 2015 Short Fiction Contest, which is open to any person who is or who has been a member of the Law Society of BC or is an articled student.
The contest seeks original, unpublished English fiction up to 2,500 words “that deals, if only incidentally, with legal subject matter”.
The contest will be judged by David Roberts, QC, Anne Giardini, QC, and Peter Roberts, and first prize is a $400 gift certificate to a local book store and publication in the Advocate. Second and third prizes include other gift certificates and possible publication in the Advocate.
Submissions will be accepted until close of day on Friday, September 4, 2015. For all the details, see pages 97-98 of the January issue of the Advocate.
