Is your law practice based in a small community or rural area? If so, you might like to consider hiring a summer student with help from the CBABC’s Rural Education and Access to Lawyers Initiative (REAL).
The program, which started in 2009, provides funding to assist law firms and practitioners in hiring second year summer students; financial and promotional support to assist with the marketing of regions to law students and new lawyers; and professional support from the CBABC Regional Legal Careers Officer to assist with the recruitment, hiring and retention of students and new lawyers in small communities and rural areas.
Students interested in placements should also keep an eye on the REAL homepage; postings are listed there.
