Aaron Wilson, a recent graduate from UBC Law’s Indigenous Legal Studies Program, is the recipient of the 2013 Harvey Bell Prize.

The Harvey Bell Prize was established in memory of the late Harvey Bell, QC, a lawyer from North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Mr. Bell was keenly interested in First Nations people and their communities and contributed to these communities in a variety of ways.

The Bell Prize is awarded to one or more Canadian law students of First Nations ancestry to“recognize his or her potential contribution as a lawyer establishing the rights of First Nations people in Canada and working toward the solution of problems faced by First Nations people” and their communities within the Canadian legal system.
