Access Pro Bono is gearing up to host the eight annual free legal advice-a-thon this coming September.
The event purpose is to aid low to modest income earning individuals who are limited to legal aid due to financial restraints. Volunteer lawyers are matched by practice area and client legal issue. Lawyers are able to assist one to two pre-booked or drop in client’s particular needs, free of charge.
In 2014, “…a total of 122 volunteer lawyers provided legal advice to 209 pre-booked and walk-up clients. The volunteers assisted clients on a range of legal matters including: civil, criminal, employment, family, tenant and landlord disputes and wills and estates.”
