The Law Society of British Columbia has released a short report on its 2013 Annual General Meeting.
This year’s AGM was held in Vancouver on October 1, 2013 and broadcast via audio-conference to participants in Abbotsford, Castlegar, Cranbrook, Fort St. John, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Smithers, Terrace and Victoria. A total of 224 members attended in person, with another 122 coming from outside Vancouver via the audio-conference.
The report notes that Vancouver lawyer David Crossin, QC was acclaimed as second vice-president of the Law Society, and that PricewaterhouseCoopers was appointed as the Law Society’s auditors for the current year ending December 31, 2013.
After much discussion, LSBC members voted on a members resolution calling on the Law Society to “disclose the complete individual Bencher expense records of all Benchers”. The resolution was defeated by a vote of 77 in favour and 97 against.
