Linda McQuaig Speaking at West Coast LEAF Equality Breakfast

Journalist and author Linda McQuaig will be the keynote speaker at West Coast LEAF’s 24th annual Equality Breakfast.

The Breakfast is scheduled for March 10, 2011 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. She will speak on the topic of “the gendered impacts of economic and other inequalities.” From the West Coast LEAF website:

Through her writing, McQuaig has challenged the status quo with a series of insightful, thought-provoking critiques of politics and economics. Her bestsellers include 1993’s The Wealthy Banker’s Wife: The Assault on Equality in Canada and Shooting the Hippo, which was shortlisted for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Non-Fiction in 1995.

Her latest book, The Trouble with Billionaires, written with [Osgoode Hall] tax professor Neil Brooks, shows how the rise of an exceptionally wealthy new elite has far-reaching negative consequences for society.
