Law Society Bencher and Former President Awarded Diamond Jubilee Medals

The Law Society of BC has announced that Bencher Ben Meisner and former President Bruce LeRose, QC have recently been awarded Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals.

60-year veteran broadcaster Ben Meisner has been a publicly-appointed Bencher since 2010, is currently Vice-chair of the Complainants’ Review Committee, and a member of the Practice Standards Committee and Special Compensation Fund Committee. He was also awarded a Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.

Bruce LeRose was President of the Law Society of BC in 2012, and has been a Bencher since 2004. He currently chairs the Legal Services Provider Task Force and has served and chaired on many other Law Society Committees during his career.

The Diamond Jubilee Medal commemorates “the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II accession to the Throne. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal will be a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country. At the same time, it will serve to honour contributions and achievements made by Canadians, who represent the full breadth of our society.”
