Victoria family and litigation lawyer Kerry L. Simmons has been named President of the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch, effective August 14, 2012.
A partner with the firm Cook Roberts, Kerry Simmons brings a wealth of experience to the position; among her accomplishments, she has instructed at the UVic Faculty of Law as well as in the PLTC program (family law) and has contributed to CLE and CBABC programming. She is also a Past President of the Victoria Bar Association and has served on various CBABC committees and councils since 2001.
Ms. Simmons recently told lawyers at the Canadian Legal Conference CBABC reception,
“I am proud to be a lawyer in British Columbia and believe that we provide an incredible service to our communities… We have the ability to influence, provide leadership and advocate on behalf of our clients and we should be proud to shine a light on our profession.”
