Pivot Legal Society has had a change in leadership. Katrina Pacey (@katrinapacey), who has been with Pivot Legal for 12 years, steps up from her position as Litigation Director to Executive Director. Pacey is well-known as a sex workers’ rights campaigner, and was counsel for several of the intervenors in the landmark Bedford SCC case, which found Canada’s prostitution laws to be unconstitutional.
Pacey replaces Peter Wrinch, who was Pivot’s Executive Director for four years and Director of Business and Development for almost three years before that.
Pivot Legal is a social justice organization that “uses law to change the world”. Pivot works on issues related to poverty, heath and drug policy, homelessness, accountable policing, and sex workers’ rights.
