The CBABC has announced the winner of the 2012 Georges A. Goyer, Q.C. Memorial Award, the organization’s highest honour, which recognizes exceptional contributions to the legal profession, jurisprudence, or the law in BC.
“Joyce DeWitt-Van Oosten, Q.C., is a distinguished and recognized lawyer in British Columbia currently serving as Assistant Deputy Attorney-General with the BC Prosecution Service (Criminal Justice Branch, Ministry of Justice). … A regular contributor, author and presenter on public education and the legal profession, tireless volunteer, mentor, Queen’s Counsel and community service award winner, Ms. DeWitt-Van Oosten is revered by colleagues as raising the bar in leading change in the profession and in the administration of justice”
