From the BC Government website, four new Provincial Court Judges have recently been appointed.
Appointment dates and regions:
- Judge Deanne Gaffar was sworn in on December 4, 2015 and has been assigned to the Fraser Region with resident Chambers situated in Surrey.
- Judge Robert G. P. Brown was sworn in on December 7, 2015 and has been assigned to the Interior Region with resident Chambers situated in Rossland.
- Judge Judith Thorne Doulis was sworn in on December 7, 2015 and has been assigned to the Northern Region with resident Chambers situated in Prince George.
- Judge Alexander M. D. Wolf was sworn in on December 7, 2015 and will initially be assigned sitting duties out of the Office of the Chief Judge.
The first judge sworn in, Judge Deanna Gaffar, is well versed in defense counsel and has experience in administrative tribunals pertaining to mental health and human rights. The remaining three judges were sworn in on Monday. Judge Robert G. P. Brown is experienced in family law, defense counsel and general civil litigation. Judge Judith Thorne Doulis is knowledgeable in family law, civil litigation, criminal and human rights law. Finally, Judge Alexander M. D. Wolf is an expert in defense counsel, poverty law and legal aid. He is also a skilled Crown Prosecutor.
