Former BCSC Chief Justice Donald Brenner Passes Away

We express our sincere condolences to the family of the Honourable Donald I. Brenner, former Chief Justice and longtime Justice of the BC Supreme Court, who passed away on March 12, 2011.

The following announcement was posted today on the court’s website:

The Supreme Court of British Columbia announces with deep sadness the passing of the Honourable Donald I. Brenner on March 12, 201. The Honourable Mr. Brenner was a member of the Court from 1992 to 2009 and served as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court from 2000 to 2009. He was a gifted jurist and mediator, a quietly confident leader and a supportive colleague with a wonderful sense of humour. During his time as Chief Justice, he was a tireless advocate for improving access to justice and for harnessing the power of technology to transform the justice system. The Court extends its deepest condolences to the Honourable Mr. Brenner’s wife, children, family, friends and colleagues.
