The BC Crime Prevention Association is hosted its annual Crime Prevention Week from November 1-7. The theme for 2015 was “Shaping the Conversation for Safer Communities” and was determined with the goal of empowering communities to facilitate and encourage conversations on community safety issues.

2015 featured a tip sheet for each day of the week:
November 1 on Community Engagement
November 2 on Abuse of Older Adults
November 3 on Addressing Violence Against Women in BC
November 4 on Distracted Driving
November 5 on Robbery Prevention
November 6 on Digital Citizenship
November 7 on Street Harassment

From the BC Crime Prevention’s website:

“Everyday across the province, citizens are impacted by the effects of crime in our communities.  Awareness is the best protection against crime.  Many people may not realize that the simple actions that they can take to make a difference not only their own lives, but the lives of those in their communities.  Power to instill change is found in the knowledge that each of us hold, which creates a responsibility to do what we can, in our communities to bring awareness to the issues impacting the sense of safety and well-being.”
