Courthouse Libraries BC Launches Online Legal Research Video Course

October 7, 2010

The Stream reports that Courthouse Libraries BC has launched an online, video-based course covering the essentials of legal research. The course is accessible to the general public as well as, for CPD credit, to practicing lawyers.

The seven-module course, Legal Research Essentials: Finding Cases on Point, consists of “a series of videos that demonstrate how you can conduct case law research more effectively. In the videos we show you how to use popular legal research tools that are free (CanLII) or that you can use for free at BC courthouse libraries (CED, CLE Online, LawSource).” A PDF handout, “The Course in a Nutshell” , is also available for download.
