CLEBC Meets Demand For Local Legal Resources

March 13, 2013

Don’t miss Susan Munro’s recent Slaw.ca post, The Untold Story of the Small Legal Publishers, outlining how the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC (CLEBC) evolved to the successful publisher it is today.

With practice manuals for every major practice area in BC, comprehensive course materials, online publications, and other resources – written by and for BC lawyers and other legal pros – CLEBC is truly a gem in our province’s legal industry.

Munro, who been with CLEBC since 1988 and is the organization’s current Director of Publications, describes the opportunity that other larger publishers lost when they moved their regional offices away from Vancouver. CLEBC was then able to fill the demand for jurisdiction-specific resources – and they have clearly met that demand! They currently have “an active list of 50 titles, covering all major areas of practice (litigation, family, real estate, commercial, and wills and estates) and a few less obvious topics as well.”
