The CLE course Business Basics 2013 will take place on Thursday, October 3, at the Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver or via live webinar for those who are not local.
This course is aimed at the new business lawyer, 1 to 3 years of call, and, as described by CLEBC, it moves beyond law school and PLTC information to focus on how business lawyers advise their clients in a practical and realistic way. There will be presentations by experienced lawyers and a discussion panel after every topic followed by questions from the audience.
The course is based on the CLEBC book Advising British Columbia Businesses and it is the course materials and resource guide for the course. If you order the book or the online only annual subscription at the same time you register for the course, you can save between $50 and $72. The book is not mandatory for the course, but it is recommended.
The following week, on Monday, October 7, the companion CLEBC course Business Basics Discussion Group 2013 is taking place and will focus on in-depth discussions on buying and selling a business, key drafting issues, solicitor’s legal opinions and shareholder agreements.
