Civil Litigation Conference 2014

The CLE Civil Litigation Conference 2014 will be held on Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28 at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel. This is an annual conference directed at civil litigators of experience levels, from the very junior to the most senior.

The Civil Litigation Conference is a comprehensive 2-day course that covers a broad spectrum of litigation topics, from practice and procedure to substantive law topics within litigation to practice and professionalism. This year’s topics will cover:

  • technology in trials;
  • online dispute resolution;
  • managing conflicts;
  • class proceedings;
  • settlement agreements;
  • appellate advocacy;
  • the 2010 Civil Rules;
  • mobility rules;
  • limitations;
  • causation; and
  • management of complex cases.

The conference includes a number of outstanding presenters, including this year’s featured speaker, The Honourable Chief Justice Christopher E. Hinkson of the BC Supreme Court.

This course is worth 13.5 Law Society CPD hours, at least 2 hours of which will involve professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations and /or practice management. In addition to the live course, the conference will also be available as a live webinar and will be added to the webinar archive.
