CBABC Urges Election Candidates to Support ‘An Agenda for Justice’

February 6, 2013

The Canadian Bar Association – BC Branch has issued a platform considerations document in preparation for this May’s provincial election.

An Agenda for Justice “outlines both short-term and long-term actions to increase the effectiveness of BC’s justice system and improve BC laws.” It is organized around four key pillars: Stability for Families, Security for Communities, Certainty for Business, and Accountability to the Public.

In a press release, CBABC president Kerry Simmons said, “Everyone who seeks public office should be asked what they and their party will do to protect the ability of families, communities and businesses to prevent and resolve legal issues in a fair, timely and effective way. … We have prepared this platform document to help start that conversation.”
