The Law Foundation of British Columbia along with the Law Society invite lawyers to apply for a legal research grant.
The fund allocated to doling out grants sits at $100,000 and is available on a basis to serve one time projects which, ‘fall within the Law Foundation’s legal research fund objectives of advancing the knowledge of law, social policy and the administration of justice.’ The largest amount available for each project is $20,000.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
(a) members of the Law Faculties at Thompson Rivers University, the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria, as long as the application is submitted through their Dean,
(b) members of other faculties in British Columbia, as long as the research is law-related and the application is submitted through their Dean,
(c) members of the legal profession in British Columbia who can demonstrate that they have the background, interests and capacity to carry out the proposed project, and
(d) non-profit organizations with expertise in carrying out legal research.
