Well, after three major wins in last year’s Clawbies, perhaps it’s not surprising that BC bloggers featured prominently in this year’s awards as well. Although none were award-winners, four British Columbia law blogs were named as runners up – still quite the honour!
- Erik Magraken’s BC Injury Law Blog was named a runner up in the Fodden Award for Best Canadian Law Blog category (Erik won this category last year).
- Family Law Refocused by Victoria firm Cassels Murray was named a runner up in the Non-Legal Audience Blog category, which recognizes blogs that “specifically target a readership with very little knowledge of the law but a strong need for access to and information about legal issues”.
- Samantha Collier’s Social Media for Law Firms was a runner up in Best Practice Management Blog category (Samantha won this category last year).
- Thorsteinssons’ Tax Blog was named a runner up for Practice Group Blog, which the judges recognize because this type of group blog is “an ideal vehicle by which a firm can showcase its services in a niche area”.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t also mention how much we appreciate the nominations we received from Erik Magraken and David Bilinsky as well – thank you!
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists in this year’s Canadian Law Blog Awards in BC and beyond, and keep up the great blogging!
