CLEBC announced that its annual Aboriginal Law Conference 2013, originally scheduled for June 27, 2013, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2013. The Conference will begin at 9 a.m. at the Pan Pacific Hotel and will end at 5:00 p.m. CLE asks that you take note of the later end time.
This Conference is designed for lawyers whose primary area of practice is Aboriginal law, whether they practice in private practice, in industry or with the government. CLEBC also recommends the course to others whose focus is Aboriginal law, such as First Nations organizations and in-house counsel.
This year, the spotlight will be on the Enbridge Hearings and their process, procedure and legal issues.The Conference’s stellar faculty will also examine and discuss the pragmatic implications of current developments and important new case law in Aboriginal law.
The Course chairs are Maria Morellato, QC, from Mandell Pinde LLP, Vancouver and Paul E. Yearwood, from the Ministry of Justice, Victoria. The featured speaker is the Honourable C. Lynn Smith, from the Faculty of Law at Allard Hall, UBC.
