The BC Collaborative Roster Society along with the CBABC present renowned speaker, esteemed author and TED Talks contributor, Dr. Gabor Maté.
The theme of the presentation is “Promoting Resilience in Stressed Families: Understanding adult stress, childhood development, and how these impact the work we do.”
From the course description, “Dr. Maté’s interactive workshop will include the latest cutting-edge research findings on the psychology and physiology of stress, their impact on body and mind, and how to prevent or mitigate these impacts. We will explore three major stressors: loss of control, uncertainty and conflict, and how these affect families undergoing divorce.”
Discussions will surround understanding the stressors and when to use them to aid clients. The workshop will also delve into child brain development as families face stressful, disruptive household issues.
The event is scheduled for September 16 at Robson Square. It will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and has been approved for 5.25 hours CPD credits.
