LTSA Search and Electronic Filing System (EFS) Temporary Filing Procedures in Effect

To Our Valued Clients,

As many of you may already be aware, the Land Title and Survey Authority (LTSA) has been experiencing system issues today. Resolution of the issue has been prioritized, but in the meantime LTSA’s Land Title Division has implemented a temporary filing procedure for the Electronic Filing System (EFS).

This procedure will allow electronic land title applications to be submitted by email or in person. The procedure should only be used for those submissions that need to receive document numbers today. Dye & Durham has also been granted access to perform pre- and post-title searches at Land Title Offices.

You may submit your documents through ETRAY™ to have Dye & Durham facilitate the temporary filing procedures on your behalf. We can also be reached at 604-257-1810 for further information. Email submission of electronic forms will entail the Land Title Office marking up the application as pending. The applicant is required to submit the application fees and payment of Property Transfer Tax (payable to Minister of Finance) if applicable, within five business days, and the originally executed (true copy) of the electronic form(s) within ten business days. Application fees sent must be based on the fee applicable to submission of paper documents, not electronic documents. Please note: A Notice Declining to Register (defect notice) will be issued if the applicable fees and true copy are not received by the Land Title Office within the five and ten business days respectively. If customers file a document through this procedure, they cannot file the same document using EFS. Doing so will result in a duplicate filing.

We will be keeping our customers updated on the progress of resolving these issues via this service throughout the day.
