    Peter MacKay is a Partner in the Baker & McKenzie Toronto office. Prior to joining the Firm, Peter MacKay, PC, QC, served in the Parliament of Canada for over 18 years and in a ministerial post in the Canadian government for nine years since the Conservative Party formed a government in 2006. Most recently, he served as Canada's Attorney General and Minister of Justice, a position to which he was appointed in 2013. Prior to this post, Mr. MacKay served as the Minister of National Defense for six years and held joint cabinet positions as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency for 18 months.

    Colin Cameron worked as a Chartered Accountant in public practice with Thorne Riddell, a predecessor firm to KPMG. As Chief Operating Officer at Clark Wilson LLP, a major Vancouver law firm with 85 lawyers and more than 150 staff, Colin led the company to become one of the most profitable firms in British Columbia.

    Colin is the Founder of Profits for Partners, Management Consulting Inc. and has been advising professional service firms for over 25 years in various industries. He now provides profit-focused strategic advice to law firms across Canada and internationally.

    Ms. Hillman-Weir will provide a perspective on trends with the Digital Land Registries and the Government’s impact on your legal practice.

    Kathy Hillman-Weir is the Vice-President, Corporate Affairs & General Counsel and is also the company’s Chief Privacy Officer and Corporate Secretary at ISC – which has partial ownership in Dye & Durham. Ms. Hillman-Weir is responsible for leading the Company’s strategy and stakeholder relations, human resources, investor relations, communications, information management, corporate governance, compliance and legal functions.

    Prior to her appointment to this role in 2011, Ms. Hillman-Weir held the position of General Manager, Corporate Affairs & General Counsel. Ms. Hillman-Weir has been with ISC since its creation in January 2000. Ms. Hillman-Weir initially joined ISC as Master of Titles under the former Land Titles system and then became Registrar of Titles and Director of the new Land Registry. Ms. Hillman-Weir has extensive knowledge and background in ISC’s core business areas combined with several years of senior and executive leadership experience.
